The crosses were sent to RLD Industries, where owner Larry Dennis and staff powder coated the crosses at no cost to the project.

Students, even ones who were not directly involved in the project, offered to come help add the names to the crosses.

Each cross contains a man's name, the unit they were in, the day of their death and the age they were when they died.

After the crosses were complete, special crates were constructed to move and store the crosses.

Students created a grid pattern on the front lawn of NDDHS so that the crosses would be displayed in equally spaced rows.

NDDHS students worked in teams to drive 128 bases into the ground for the crosses to be displayed on.

NDDHS Co-op/English teacher Scott Reaney and Retired History teacher Kevin Bell helped guide the students with the placement of the crosses.

127 crosses have been displayed this year at North Dundas District High School.
